Thousands gathered to celebrate Fayette County Day at the Fayette County Fair, where neighbors, families, and visitors came together to enjoy everything our county has to offer. From our Discover Fayette PA booth and the Fayette County, PA 250th exhibits to the Appalachian Expressions shirts, the Appalachian Quilt Project, Voices of Home, and so much more, it was an incredible day celebrating our heritage and community. Then, Connellsville made history by officially breaking a Guinness World Record with an amazing 645 connected swim tubes during Tube da Ville on the Youghiogheny River. Congratulations to the Bullskin 10U Little League Softball All-Stars on capturing the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Championship with a commanding 15-3 victory over East Region champion New Fairfield, Connecticut. With the victory, Bullskin has earned a spot in the Little League Softball World Series, where they will represent the Mid-Atlantic Region on the national stage. Today, Fayette Friends of Animals welcomed the Pennsylvania State Director of Dog Law Enforcement for a tour of the shelter and a closer look at the important services it provides to animals throughout Fayette County. The visit offered an opportunity to discuss the shelter’s current needs and its vision for the future, including plans for a campaign to support a new facility. 💙 Age is just a number when you have the determination to keep reaching new heights. The Daily Courier Connellsville recently shared the inspiring story of Jim Hillen of Bullskin Township, who celebrated his 90th birthday in an unforgettable way by climbing the observation tower at Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania. Surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends, Jim proved that adventure doesn't have an age limit. The celebration continued back home with a walk along the Great Allegheny Passage, a trail Jim has enjoyed for years. His lifelong love of staying active and connecting with others is an inspiration to us all. Congratulations, Jim, on an incredible milestone and a birthday celebration that truly reflects the adventurous spirit of Fayette County, PA ! Get outside, get active, and Discover Fayette PA ! 💙

Whether you're a lifelong resident, new to the area, a business owner, volunteer, veteran, community leader, or simply someone with a favorite Fayette County memory, we'd love to hear your story.
