What started with one simple question has grown into a beautiful tradition where everyone has a place to belong. The Daily Courier Connellsviller recently shared the story behind the Under the Stars Special Needs Prom, founded in 2019 after Jamie Basinger asked why there was not a dance where she and others with special needs could dress up, enjoy music, and celebrate together. Thanks to the dedication of Glenda McLaughlin, the late Rita Rosensteel, Kelly Linko, and many volunteers and supporters, that question became an annual celebration filled with friendship, dancing, laughter, and lasting memories. The next Under the Stars Special Needs Prom will be held Saturday, July 17, 2027. Thank you to the Daily Courier for highlighting this special Fayette County tradition!
